Hi Bek,

You said you got serious about exercise at 31.

Do you ever wish you'd started earlier, or do you think starting later was actually perfect timing for you?

Bek Olimjon's avatar

Of course. I wish I’d started during teen years, or at least in my 20’s.

Huge difference in gains. For example, now I can’t improve my VO2max so much as I had opportunities earlier.

Getting lots of good dats to inform your training and benchmark your progress. Do you have a smart trainer that can run in erg mode to keep watts stable when youre targeting specific watts?

Hei Mark,

Yes, I have Wahoo Kickr V6. I think there was a trouble because it was connected to both the Wahoo app and Zwift.

I will redo the test in the near future. Gordo won’t approve back to back (in the same week) high intensity sessions.

Bike heart rate should be 10% lower than run heart rate because of body position: you are not vertical so your heart doesn’t have to pump as hard. You also are using far fewer muscles. That said 177 seems a bit too low. With more fitness this should get closer to run max

Thank you Joshua. That makes sense. My runmax is 200 and if we take 10%, then it is 180. Not too far. But for sure I need more fitness.

Nice work and learning journey!

I ve heard about generic rule of 10% on difference between bike and HR values.

Sometimes due to bike fit you re forced to stop before your heart wants it. That's something I am struggling at the moment even on long indoor rides.

Probably experts already suggested you focus on cadence improvement.

Cheers
