PS, another example of the gold in plain sight in Uzbekistan is their chess prowess, including Javokhir Sindarov and Nodirbek Abdusattorov. There’s a nice profile in yesterday’s Wall Street Journal. What happens when individual talent combines with nation-level teamwork and development compounding over years. Uzbekistan has a bit of a “Norwegian Way” for chess, and Norwegian Magnus Carlsen is impressed. 😁

I don’t know what it is, but i think the saying that multiple people can hold the same idea at different times is true.

I was just telling a friend over the weekend how generally Africans typically have ethics yet the assumption is that they don’t because for a forever stereotypical belief because of their geographical location.

For his case, his promotion is pending yet his colleague situated in headquarters in a different country has received his promotion.

On the same fashion, i always play Ed Sheeran’s song Castle on the hill whenever i think about past mates.

Beautiful piece Bek. 👆🏽

This is a beautiful piece of perception. You left and were shaped by the leaving; they stayed and were shaped by the staying. You read the room at that lunch table the way a poet reads people’s hearts and journeys. I bet you easily diagnose Wilson’s disease at 10 m, argyria at 40, but more importantly, a golden soul at any distance

Yes, I am a mere student. But the moment I think of my classmates who were way more talented, intelligent but didn't get the backup like I did, I remember to be grateful. I hope the best for them!

Scale this by millions and you can see how open societies (see Popper) unleash huge amounts of talent to benefit the world, and our children.

A wonderful read.
